Holland America Line Nieuw Statendam
Holland America Line MS Nieuw Statendam Cruise Ship. Sister ship to Koningsdam and second in Holland America’s Pinnacle Class, Nieuw Statendam continues the interior inspiration centered on the theme “Architecture of Music.” Tihany Design was responsible for the majority of public spaces, all of which allude to the beautiful curved lines and sophisticated structure of musical instruments. The Queen’s Lounge is a striking entertainment venue inspired by the perspective from inside of a violin. With grand wavelike curves of polished wood, the two-story space appears to naturally flow with the sounds and activity emanating from the center stage. Music Walk includes several entertainment venues- Billboard OnBoard, Lincoln Center Stage, Rolling Stone Rock Room and B.B. King’s Blue’s Club. Rudi’s Sel de Mer makes its debut on Nieuw Statendam, featuring classic French dishes reimagined with contemporary flair.

The buffet style Lido Market is situated on flooring that mirrors piano keys and the Venetian themed dining venue Canaletto takes inspiration from the attire of a gondolier. In the Pinnacle Grill, dishes inspired by the Pacific Northwest are showcased under coral shaped lighting fixtures and a ceiling designed to reflect the diamond cut outs of a fishing net. The atrium is the centerpiece of the design theme, connecting three decks of public spaces on Nieuw Statendam with a striking steel rod structure and staircase inspired by the elegant lines of a harp. The main dining room is designed with bright, modern features including chandeliers with tri-color hand blown glass bulbs secured by steel rods and a champagne gold wine tower that appears folded and fluid despite its polished stainless steel material. Curving structural ribs that connect the two floors reference harp strings, continuing the design story of the atrium.
